Delete specific data from TendBot

TendBot is developed by Twinbolt AB (org.nr 559213-8985), Uppsala, Sweden.

You don't have to delete your entire account to remove data from TendBot. The app gives you direct control over the things you've created — memory, notes, plugins, connections, and aliases. Each section below explains exactly how to remove a specific category of data.

1 — Delete learned memory (Cortex)

Cortex is the assistant's memory of facts and preferences it has learned about you. You can review every entry and delete any of them individually.

  1. Open the TendBot app
  2. Tap the gear icon to open Settings
  3. Tap "Cortex"
  4. Tap the trash icon next to any entry you want to remove

What gets deleted: the selected memory fact (preference, person, decision, observation, journal entry, etc.). The deletion is immediate from your view, and the underlying record is purged from active queries within seconds and from backups within 30 days.

2 — Delete notebook pages

Notebook pages and their child pages can be removed individually.

  1. Open the Notebook tab
  2. Open the page you want to remove
  3. Tap the page menu and choose "Delete"
  4. Confirm the deletion

What gets deleted: the page, all its child pages, and the page contents (text, images, attachments). Active records are removed immediately. Encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days.

3 — Uninstall plugins (and their data)

When you uninstall a plugin, the data the plugin stored on your behalf is also removed.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap "Plugins"
  3. Find the plugin in the installed list
  4. Tap "Uninstall"

What gets deleted: the plugin installation, plugin-specific settings, and any data the plugin stored about you. Reinstalling the same plugin later starts from a clean state.

4 — Disconnect Gmail or Google Calendar

When you disconnect a service, TendBot's access is revoked immediately and we can no longer read any data from it.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap the connected service (Gmail, Google Calendar, etc.)
  3. Tap "Disconnect"

What gets deleted immediately: OAuth access tokens (revoked at Google and removed from our token vault), all cached calendar lists and metadata for that connection, all real-time push subscriptions, and any signals or events tied to that connection.

About AI-extracted summaries: TendBot stores short summaries of emails the assistant has read so it can recall them in future conversations. When you disconnect your last account for a provider (e.g., your only Google account), those summaries are also purged. If you have multiple accounts on the same provider connected, the summaries are kept until you disconnect the last one, since we cannot reliably tell which account each summary came from.

5 — Remove your @tend.bot or own email aliases

Own email addresses are alternative addresses you've added so TendBot recognizes mail sent to or from you.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap "Own emails"
  3. Tap the X next to any email address you want to remove

What gets deleted: the alias itself. You cannot remove the email address you log in with — to remove that, delete your account.

6 — Delete individual image attachments

Images attached to notebook pages can be removed one by one.

  1. Open the notebook page containing the image
  2. Tap the image
  3. Choose "Delete"

What gets deleted: the image file, its metadata, and the link from the notebook page. Removed immediately from active storage.

Things that currently require full account deletion

We're transparent about what is and isn't possible right now. The following data categories don't yet have a per-item delete control inside the app — to remove them, you need to delete your full account:

  • Chat conversation history with the assistant
  • Approval and audit history
  • Activity feed entries
  • @tend.bot delegation inbox messages (received via your personal AI email address)

If you want to remove any of these, see our account deletion page:

Retention periods

When you delete data through any of the controls above:

  • Active records are removed from your view immediately
  • Hard-deleted items (aliases, images, OAuth tokens, plugin installations) are gone from production databases within seconds
  • Soft-deleted items (Cortex memory, notebook pages, plugin data) are excluded from all reads immediately and purged from production databases within 30 days
  • Encrypted database backups containing residual copies are rotated out within 30 additional days
  • Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (with no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely

Questions or help?
